Write for us
We welcome pitches about rural vernacular design: buildings, materials, boundaries, signs and objects that reward a closer look. Send proposals through the Contact page, with a clear subject and a fresh angle.
What makes a good pitch
A strong proposal focuses on one distinct subject, explains what readers will understand by the end, and shows why the angle suits Rural Style Collective. Tell us whether the piece is explanatory, comparative, historical or a close reading of a particular design feature. Keep the proposed scope clear and avoid promises that depend on access, testing or expertise you do not have.
A careful, specific voice
We value precise observation, plain explanations and a sense of context. Separate what can be seen or checked from what you infer, and avoid treating one region or tradition as representative of all rural places. We are not looking for product promotion, generic styling advice or claims that a visual choice is universally right.
How to send it
Use the Contact page to choose the editorial question option and include a short outline, the proposed angle and a few lines about your relevant experience. Please do not send a complete article unless it has been requested. A proposal is not a promise of publication.
Character lives in the details
A rural place is not a style recipe. Its character emerges from use, material, weather and the choices accumulated over time.
